Out of the two, I like “the thunderbird express” better.

If I were to put in my suggestion, I would suggest:

“the Thunderbird Spirit”

“Thunderbird Press”

No question is stupid, the only way to find out is to ask.
Your second guess is correct.
The glasses frames would be made from a synthetic substance made to look like natural tortoise shell.
Usually mottled or variegated like tortoiseshell, esp. with yellow and brown and sometimes other colors.

Thankfully, natural tortoise shell is no longer used for such items.
It used to come from the Hawksbill Turtle, a sea turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata, the shell of which is the source of tortoise shell: an endangered species.

So, it should have been called turtle shell not tortise shell.

If it is the type I think it is, the edge on end of the flat part on top should slip out. I always used a small screw driver to push down on the flat and pull the upright out of the way to release it. Sometimes you need to use needle nose to put the edge back.
